I worked with Hayley as a drummer, backing vocalist and MD for around 5 years. Formerly the front woman of Aria Award winning indie band The Jezabels, Hayley was embarking on her solo project and, in absence of her bandmates, had to completely rethink the way she she was going to perform music live. Over the years we worked to reduce her session musician costs (going from five paid musicians to two) while maintaining the high standards of sound and performance she was dedicated to. We did this with the use of backing tracks run by Ableton, the introduction of in-ear monitoring (which we ran ourselves on stage) and also helping her to become a more confident electric guitarist by integrating patch changes on a helix pedal board via midi.
