Hello there, my name is Astrid, thanks for stopping by my website. You might be here because you’re looking for someone to help you out with an upcoming live show or tour. If you are, please don’t hesitate to reach out for a chat! Even if I’m not the right person for the job, it’s likely I’ll be able to point you towards a more appropriate fit. Here’s a bit about my work history:
I’ve been working in the Australian music industry about 20 years as both a sound engineer and session drummer. After completing a Bachelors degree in Media and Music at UNSW, I furthered my qualifications with an advanced diploma of Sound Production at JMC academy back in 2005. My main focus at that time was to become an excellent live sound engineer, and when I finished my studies, I worked in FOH and MONs positions at numerous venues in Sydney, while also teaching students in recording studios at both UNSW and JMC Academy. I’ve held many positions throughout my career, including but not limited to;
performing as a session drummer for a plethora of artists in the genres of pop, rock and hip hop
managing a music school (B!G Music in Crows Nest)
running my own PA hire company
producing music with artists and for myself
running a rehearsal/recording studio (Caramel Sounds in Marrickville)
installing digital audio systems in new buildings (With ProAV and Rutledge)
repairing computers for Apple as a “Genius” (2018-2021)
In-house live sound (The Lansdowne, Oxford Arts, The Annandale to name a few)
Tour management
Musical directing
With such an eclectic mix of work experience, I possess a unique set of skills that allows me to understand all elements of how to put on a high quality live show. From how an artist can execute their most engaging performance through to the technicalities of touring that show, I know what is required and how to make it happen.
I love our industry, and am passionate about helping artists express themselves in the most authentic way possible.
